Stories and reflections

Blog

Notes from the people behind the baskets: why there is a candle in every one, the chain of people who made this work possible, and the small graces along the way.

Synchronicities

A thank-you text at the exact right moment, a fundraiser on the 'wrong' day, a blanket that arrived two days early. The small graces that keep us going.

Links in the Chain

How the loss of John Aydin, a phone call, and a brother's patient listening became Baskets of Healing.

About this blog

Baskets of Healing began with one family's loss and a question: what can I possibly do to help comfort her? This blog is where we write about what we have learned since. Jessica, our founder, writes about the organization and the moments that keep us going. Amanda, John Aydin's mother, writes from the inside of grief. We hope these words find whoever needs them.

If you are a loss mom and would like to share your own story here, we would be honored to read it. Reach out any time.
