Partner with us
For hospitals and care teams
We supply Baskets of Healing to hospitals at no cost, so that your bereavement team always has something to place in a grieving mother's hands.

Why hospitals partner with us
Nurses, social workers, chaplains and bereavement coordinators do extraordinary work in the hours after a loss. But discharge often comes quickly, and the physical recovery that follows is rarely the focus of that final conversation. Many mothers go home without supplies, without a plan for lactation, and without knowing what is normal.
A Basket of Healing gives your team a tangible, complete answer to the question “what do I do now?” It holds the medical supplies for recovery, a printed Lactation After Loss guide, and small comforts that tell a mother she was seen. It takes nothing from your budget and almost nothing from your staff's time.

How a partnership works
- Reach outEmail jessica@basketsofhealing.org with your hospital, your unit, and roughly how many losses after 16 weeks you see in a typical month.
- We deliver a starter supplyWe hand-deliver or ship a small number of finished baskets to the contact person on your team, usually a bereavement coordinator, social worker or nurse manager.
- Your team gives the basketWhen a loss occurs, staff give the basket to the mother before discharge. There is no paperwork and no eligibility check; if she gave birth after 16 weeks, the basket is for her.
- Let us know when supply runs lowA quick email is all it takes. We restock as donations allow, and we prioritize hospitals that have an immediate need.
What we ask of partner hospitals
- A named contact person who can receive deliveries and store a few baskets.
- A commitment to give the baskets to mothers at no charge and without conditions.
- An occasional note about how many baskets have been given, so we can plan and so our donors can see their impact. We never ask for any patient information.
Frequently asked questions
Is there really no cost to the hospital?
None. Every item is paid for by donors. We do not invoice hospitals and we do not ask for anything in return beyond handing the baskets to the mothers who need them.
What about losses earlier than 16 weeks?
Our baskets are designed around the physical recovery from a later delivery, including lactation. We would still love to hear from you; if there is enough demand, we hope to develop a basket for earlier losses in the future.
Is the content faith-based?
Our blanket carries the words “Faith · Hope · Healing” and a blessing for the mother's healing. The supplies, the guide and the letter are for every family, of any faith or none.
Can we tell families where the baskets come from?
Yes. Each basket has a tag with our website and a letter inside. Some mothers later reach out to us, and those notes mean the world to the volunteers who pack the baskets.
We are outside New Jersey and New York. Can we still partner?
Please ask. We are a small volunteer organization and we grow as donations allow, but our dream is a basket at every hospital, and a conversation is always the first step.
